The Mayor of Reading opens Home Court

History

Home Court is built on the site of a former tobacco and confectionery warehouse and is located in one of Reading city centre’s most sensitive conservation areas.

Having spent two years in the planning process and taken a further year to complete the building, Home Court was officially opened by the Mayor of Reading, Councillor Jeanette Skeats in May 2004.

This strengthened the link Shirwell Ltd (the owners of Home Court) already had with Reading. The great grandfather of the current Shirwell managing director, William Henry Bale, was also Mayor of Reading in 1936.
